Legal provisions - Electoral Law
• Standing bodies of people’s councils of provinces and standing bodies of people’s councils of districts shall make proposals for the proportion, composition and number of nominated people’s council candidates of provinces or districts selected by political organizations, socio-political organizations, social organizations, people's armed units, regulatory agencies at the same administrative level and inferior administrative divisions, public service providers, and business organizations in administrative divisions, provided that at least 35% of total official people’s council candidates are women; the number of candidates who are of diverse ethnicity shall be determined according to the actual condition of each local government. (Elections law, article 9)

(Elections law, article 9)
