Legal provisions - Electoral Law
• Procedure for nominating candidates for deputies of local councils: The number of women must be at least 40% of the total number of candidates for local councils nominated by a political party. (Election code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, article 91)
• The regional, district, or city electoral commission shall inform the leaders of the relevant political parties about the discrepancies identified in the documents submitted for registration and the cases of deviations from the requirements of this code. A political party has the right to correct the inconsistencies and errors found in the documents within two days and submit them to the relevant election commission. (Election code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, article 92)
