• The Suco council is composed of: a female delegate from each village in the Suco; a male delegate from each village in the Suco; a female representative of the Suco youth; a male representative of the Suco youth. (Sucos law, article 10)
• It is incumbent upon the village assembly to elect a male delegate and a female delegate to the Suco council. (Sucos law, article 34)
• The ballot papers contain the names of the candidates admitted by the electoral board, divided into two columns, one for the female candidates and the other for the male candidates, ordered alphabetically, in front of which there is a square space where voters mark their choice. (Sucos law, article 37)
• There must be a minimum of one female application for Aldeia chief. If there is no female application, the electoral commitee of the Aldeia assembly, after consultation with women's organizations, shall declare fundamentally the fact and determine the continuation of the electoral process. (Sucos law, article 44)
• The Suco council is responsible for electing a female youth representative and a male youth representative for this body. (Sucos law, article 55)
