• Metropolitan and local councils: Every party must seek to ensure that fifty per cent of the candidates on the party list are women and that women and men candidates are evenly distributed through the list. (Local government: municipal structures act, schedule 1, article 11.3)
• District Councils: Every party must seek to ensure that fifty per cent of the candidates on the party list are women and that women and men candidates are evenly distributed through the list. (Local government: municipal structures act, schedule 2, article 5.3)
• Representatives of local cuncils and district management areas to district councils: Every party or independent ward councillor must seek to ensure that fifty per cent of the candidates on the candidate list are women and that women and men candidates are evenly distributed through the list. (Local government: municipal structures act, schedule 2, article 17.5)
