• A political party or voters who nominate more than one candidate for a member of a municipal council in a constituency must nominate candidates or candidate lists in such a way that each of the two sexes has at least 40% of the candidacies or spots on the candidate list and their candidates in the first half of candidate lists should be arranged alternately by gender. The provision of the first paragraph of this Article shall not apply to candidate lists on which three candidates are placed, whereby there must be at least one representative of each sex on the list of candidates on which three candidates are placed. (Law on local elections, article 70a)
• Candidacies or lists of candidates shall be submitted to the municipal electoral commission no later than 30 days before the day of voting by 7pm. The provisions of the National assembly elections act shall apply mutatis mutandis to the procedure for confirming candidacies or lists of candidates, determining the lists of confirmed candidacies or lists of candidates and their publication. (Law on local elections, article 74)
