Legal provisions - Electoral Law
• Each party (alliance of parties) has the right to nominate only one electoral list. A party included in a party alliance has no right to nominate a separate list of candidates on its behalf. In case of Yerevan council of elder selections, at least 25 candidates are included in the electoral list of the party (party bloc) participating in the elections, and in case of elections of other community councils - at least 15 candidates. The number of candidates included in the electoral list of the party (party bloc) participating in the elections may not exceed three times the number of mandates for the members of the community councils defined by this code. The number of representatives of each sex in any integer trio (1-3, 1-6, 1-9 and so on until the end of the list) from the number 1 of the electoral list of the party (party bloc) and each of the parties included in the bloc shall not exceed 70 per cent. (Election code, article 130)
• The Electoral commission rejects the registration of the electoral list of a party (party bloc) if the electoral list does not comply with the requirements set forth in part 2 of article 130 of this code (except for the cases when the non-compliance is conditioned by a circumstance that arose after the nomination). • Until January 1, 2022 during the national assembly, communities governed by the proportional electoral system council of elders elections, in any number of quartets (1-4, 1-8, 1-12 and so on until the end of the list) in the first part of the national electoral list of the party, party bloc and each of the parties included in the bloc, the number of representatives of each sex should not exceed 75%, and the number of representatives of each sex in the regional electoral list of the party (party bloc) participating in the elections should not exceed 75%. (Election code, article 144)
