Single House:
• Gender parity applies to all lists. the lists of candidates, incumbents and alternates, must be alternatively composed of persons of both sexes. When the list is composed of an odd number of candidates, parity applies to the even number immediately below. In the event that only one deputy is to be elected in the department, the candidate and his or her substitute must be of different sexes. The lists who do not comply with the previous dispositions are not registered. (Electoral Code, articles L.149 and L.178)
