Lower House:
• The statute of the political party should contain appropriate mechanisms for the promotion of women to not less than 20% of elective positions, and the appointment of a significant proportion of them in public office of decision. There must be one female candidate for every five places on the list. The political parties which do not comply with the nominations of their internal elections with these provisions will be sanctioned with the non-registration of their lists. (Electoral Code, article 32)
Upper House:
