Lower House:
• The application of horizontal and vertical parity is mandated for the integration of the lists of candidates for deputies and senators for proportional representation. That is to say, the candidacies presented by the parties for this principle must respect parity and headed alternately by men and women in each elective period (Election Law, articles 207 and 233).
• For candidates elected by the proportional system, candidates must alternate by sex (Election law, article 234)
• Parties not complying will be given a non-extendable period to rectify their list. If they do not comply with the law, the list will be rejected (Election Law, article 232)
Upper House:
