Single House:
• The number of deputies in the National Assembly is 109, including 24 seats reserved exclusively for women. (Electoral Code, article 144)
• The political parties wishing to take part in the legislative elections present lists of candidates in all the electoral districts. Each list includes a number of candidates equal to that of the seats to be filled, including a woman and her substitute specially presented as reserved seats. (Electoral Code, article 145)
• Without prejudice to the election of women in the first allocation, a second allocation is made at the rate of one seat exclusively reserved for women per electoral constituency. This seat is allocated to the list having obtained the greatest number of valid votes cast in the electoral constituency among the eligible lists of the constituency for the benefit of the candidate presented in this capacity. (Electoral Code, article 146)
