• Candidates for general elections and municipal elections must have a balanced composition of women and men, so that in the list as a whole the candidates of each sex represent at least 40 %. When the number of positions to be filled is less than five, the proportion of women and men must seek the greatest possible numerical balance. For alternate lists, the above rules shall apply. (Law on electoral regime, article 16)
• If during the act of verification it is observed that there are correctable errors in the composition or presentation of one or more of the candidatures, to immediately communicate this circumstance to their legal representatives, for their rectification until 17:00 on the fifth working day from the date of publication of the call for elections. Once the candidacies have been verified, the commune makes the proclamation for those of the parish level and the Government for those of the national level, and it proceeds to its publication throughout the working day following that of the aca exemption from the submission deadline. (Law on electoral regime, article 24)
• Against the reasoned denial or proclamation of any of the candidacies, the candidates and their legal representatives may present, within one working day from the date of publication of the denial or proclamation, appeal before the Electoral Board. (Law on electoral regime, article 25)
