The Transitional National Council is composed of 81 members from diverse entities and unless rejected, the appointment of members of each entity must take into account diversity and include at least 30% women (Article 60). Unless expressly repealed, the provisions of the legislation and regulations in force not contrary to this Charter remain fully applicable (Article 81).

Single House:
• Parity shall apply to all lists of candidates for national and local elections and for the exercise of elective functions in public institutions. Lists for elections must be alternately composed of the names of candidates of both sexes (Gender Parity Law, articles 2 and 3).
• In the case of failure to comply with any of these provisions, the competent administrative authority shall declare the lists of applications concerned inadmissible of its own motion. Reasons shall be given for the rejection decision and the interested parties shall be notified thereof in accordance with the law. (Gender Parity Law, article 6)
