Lower House:
• Every candidates list (and every compensatory mandate list) shall include candidates of male and female gender, who are equally represented, which entails that each gender is represented with a minimum of 40% of the total number of candidates on the list. On the candidate lists (and compensatory mandate lists) there must be: at least one minority gender candidate amongst the first two candidates, two minority gender candidates amongst the first five candidates, and three minority gender candidates amongst the first eight candidates, et seq. (Electoral Law, articles 4.19 and 4.24)
• If the lists do not comply with the requirement of the law, they will be rejected and given two days to rectify. (Electoral Law, article 4.6)
Upper House: --

Equal representation of the sexes exists in the case where one of the sexes is represented by at least 40% in the bodies referred to in paragraph (1) of this article.Discrimination on the basis of gender is considered a situation where there is no equal representation from paragraph (2) of this article.
