Lower House:
• Male and female candidates must alternate. At least 50% of candidates (both titular and substitutes) must be women. In case of odd numbers, the candidate elected will be given preference to women. (Electoral Law , articles 11 and 58)
• In the cases of election of a single candidacy in a constituency, in the total of said constituencies, at least 50% of the nominees will be women. (Electoral Law, article 11)
• The candidate lists of the indigenous peoples and native farmers, prepared according to their own rules and procedures, must respect the legislated gender quotas. (Electoral Law, article 11)
• Failure to comply with [Article 11] will result in non-admission of the list of candidacies, in which case the political organization will be notified about the rejection, which must be amended within a maximum period of 72 hours of its notification. (Electoral Law, article 107)
Upper House:
